The AA810 Project is delighted to announce that Christopher Smith BA has joined the Board of Spitfire AA810 Restoration Ltd as a Non-Executive Director with responsibility for providing financial oversight to the whole AA810 Project. Christopher is a senior partner with Grant Thornton LLP and, as such, is the firm’s Regional Technical Audit Partner and Head of their Financial Reporting Advisory Group.
Working with a mixture of private and public (London full list, AIM and TSX) sector clients in the UK and internationally he has considerable experience of advising on accounting matters, particularly IFRS and UK GAAP. His expertise specifically covers investment trusts and VCTs.
During his time in this role he has undertaken a variety of responsibilities from providing training to delegates from CIPFA FAN, to working with local authorities and health bodies, and CIMA. Christopher is also a key member of the firm’s UK and global mining team with considerable experience of the oil, gas and mining sectors both in terms of exploration and production.
