The PRU Archive have been offered the opportunity to acquire the medal group and personal items of RN and PRU Pilot Lt Cdr George Bodley Kingdon for our archive collection as part of our National PRU memorial. This is a short term campaign to raise £500 to secure these items in the national interest.
 
George Kingdon had an intersting Naval career starting in 1929 including a period on attachment to the RAF during the 1930's. Seconded to the PRU, George was seen to taxi away from RAF Benson with his oxygen hose disconnected from the aircraft supply. His Spitfire impacted the ground just 35 minutes later in Somerset, George having lost conciousness through oxygen starvation.
