Back in 2019 the project was instrumental in reuniting the personal property of Hubert Henderson with his living family. Hubert had been Sandy's best friend in Stalag Luft III and following Sandy's passing, he became closely tied with the Gunn family, even naming his first son Sandy.
With the appeal first airing in early 2019, the project worked with the Antiques Roadshow production team to connect families and subsequently we reunited the papers with Huberts family at Biggin Hill in August 2019.
The project was fortunate enough to be able to copy all the associated documents which are now proudly part of our Archive collection.
